Say NO to dangerous euthanasia laws now

The Queensland Parliament is about to debate and vote on dangerous euthanasia and assisted suicide laws. Sadly, they're more extreme than any other jurisdiction.

Under these laws, the most vulnerable, the elderly, disabled and mentally ill will be at risk of being pressured into making decisions that are irreversible– all in the name of 'choice'.

Euthanasia and assisted suicide legislation does nothing to improve end-of-life care for the rural, remote and regions.

Care needs to come first.

Until every Queenslander has access to effective treatment and care, there is no 'choice'.

Euthanasia and assisted suicide legislation is not the answer.

You can take action today! By signing this petition, you are defending the vulnerable, elderly, disabled and mentally ill by calling for care first.

To the QLD Parliament,

I call on the QLD Parliament to please reject euthanasia and assisted suicide laws that would allow doctors to legally assist vulnerable people to die.

Those advocating for euthanasia claim that in some instances death is preferable to continuing care. This is an outrageous perversion of everything we as citizens should expect from health care.

Under these laws, the vulnerable, elderly, disabled and mentally ill will be at risk of being pressured into making decisions that are irreversible and life-threatening – all in the name of 'choice'.

Until every Queenslander, rural, remote, and Indigenous, has access to effective treatment and care there is no 'choice'.

Euthanasia and assisted suicide is not the answer.

If the Queensland Parliament proceeds with this legislation, then it will be taking us down a path that leads to loss of hope for many people – and more mental health problems for both patients and medical professionals.
